With over 17 years experience in software testing, software development and business analysis, Sharon is a talented trainer who develops and delivers training courses at all levels - from Introductory to Advanced - particularly in the realm of software testing. Sharon's passion for software testing also comes to the fore when she is consulting with Software Education's customers - implementing software testing approaches, techniques and methodologies.
Sharon is a frequent speaker on software testing and certification at industry events, including locally at STANZ, Agile Australia Conference, ANZTB Conference, ISTQB Special Interest Groups (SIG) and Test Professional Network (TPN) meetings, as well as internationally at the STARWEST Conference (USA). After presenting at STARWEST 2010, Sharon was personally invited to present on "Focusing with clear test objectives" to over 300 testers at the US Department of Defense.
In her spare time, Sharon researches and writes papers on Agile test approaches in various business domains. Sharon is currently directing her efforts towards enhancing and elaborating Agile approaches for implementation in the testing area. She is certified for ISTQB Foundation, ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst, ISTQB Advanced Test Manager and ISTQB Advanced Technical Test Analyst making her one of the first people in Australasia to gain the full suite of ISTQB advanced certifications.
Sharon was a founding board member of the Australia New Zealand Testing Board (ANZTB) having served from 2005 until 2010, and in addition was the Chair of the ISTQB Marketing Working Group from 2008 to 2010, responsible for managing and organising the international marketing approach for ISTQB.
In addition, Sharon is a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). In 2010 Sharon was recognised as one of the 13 most influential women Software Testers in the world, by US magazine Software Test & Performance. Sharon is a proud supporter of the Women in Technology (WiT) group in Queensland, is often invited to be a speaker at their events, and was a judge at the WiT Awards 2010.
